So I have just finished doing my second drawdio pencil for one of my construction team mate, I wonder who will get my drawdio pencil. This was an easier pencil to do because I knew what parts went where. And it was very simple and what cut lines that I needed to do in order to make it run smoothly. But I am happy the way my second drawdio pencil turned out but I am still missing the battery holder...I wonder if we will get any more soon.
Last Tuesday, the interns at the San Diego Fab Lab ventured out to the Mission Trails Regional Park to log GPS data of the trails. We spent approximately six hours hiking the trails and recording waypoints that would show prominent landmarks and various trailheads. The interns split up into two separate groups, one focusing on collecting detailed data of a specific region, and the other focusing on collecting data spread across the majority of the trails. The areas covered by our team primarily consisted of the Grassland Triangle and the San Diego River Dam.
Today i went over my 2nd drawdio cause i did something wrong while making it the other day. So i went over it and fixed what was wrong, i put some parts in the wrong place and after i fixed that it still didnt work or make a sound. So i asked fabiola to check double check and she saw that i put one of the speaker wires on row 6 which there isnt suppose to be a row 6 hahah. So i desolder that pin and put it in the right spot. Then i tried the drawdio and it worked and made a sound, i put it together and gave it to jake.
Everyone in the structure team has been separated into 3 teams with different theme. I have been choose to be on the solar/ energy team. Kristna and Tresoir is in my team. I have build a base for the structure and Kristna has build a top piece, and we decide to combine the two. Here is the picture of it.
Here is a picture of the final draft structure made out of wood:
Yesterday, we all got to enter the Mission Trials Regional Park in order to do GPS graphing.
At frist we watched a short film in the theater Room in order to excel in understanding how to enjoy the park and not distory it by doing sinceless actions. Once we where all done watching the short film we went out into a gallary with the Park Ranger which helped us understand the dangers of the park and how to avoid them. while also explianing a pletora of information in relation to animals, people, plants, trees and job opportunitys in the mission trials park.
Yesterday we went hiking in Mission Trails and it was intense, probally because i didnt wear the right clothing. My job of the day was to mark way points and my partner Christain is to write down what each waypoint is and what was there, and the time. for example 001- grinding rocks 11:45. I have never been on a hike but it was pretty fun, i'll probally come back sometime in the future. The grasslands didnt look like how it looked in the video so that sucked, but we saw the SD river and the wall that the Kumeyaay built that was beautiful.
Today was my first time in a long time having been on a hike; Mission trails is one of San Diego's most monumental area's. The park ranger told us that the park was 10 square miles or close to that figure. I was also suprised to learn that mission trails is home to some pretty exotic organism's. And I also learned of challenges that face the park like people who let there dogs and cats out of there back yard and they venture out into the park and cause significant threat to some of endangered animals in park.
Today we went on a hike at Mission Trails Regional Park to map the area. We were given a tour of the Mission Trails Visitor Center. The ranger at the center showed us a map of the regional park and its surroundings. He informed us about the endangered species and the wildlife that habitats in the park. He warned us about how to behave when sighting animals such as rattlesnakes, bobcats, mountain lions, and coyotes. Before we started our hike, we assigned people to take pictures and geo-tag locations, plot waypoints, and title the locations of pictures and time stamp the waypoints.
Mrs. Shalauh told us about high blood pressure also diabetes and hypertention, stress. Also we learned what not to eat what to eat like choosing boiled eggs instead of scrambled eggs. She took my blood pressure and found that I'm in the 17 range. I'm normal. We used my weight also calculated my height in inches. Overall Mrs.shaluah taught me things I can take home and tell my family and friends.
we started off the day at the Mission Trails visitor center and took a tour of the building while learning about the purpose of the regional park and all of the endangered species of plants and wild life. We first split up into two teams, esteban and shani's team and katie and mike's team which i was in. we spent our time GPS mapping and geotagging the trails that we hiked. after that we returned to the visitor center and all of the data from the hikes was collected and posted onto the internet.
