Well last week the electronics team all got their own circuit board layout and we all had to make our own design and make it work right. Pretty much who ever had the cleanest layout got their circuit board layout made. But later on there was a circuit board made and i dont know whose layout it was but i guess it worked.
Just uploaded the pictures of all the interns and crew of the lab:
Hope you like them!

Today me ,Troung, Kayla ,Osman and Christian were talking about Jake's structure and how were going to cut the lights ,the LED's and the solar panels together with the structure. At first we were all thinking of putting the batteries, the chip and some other things on the bottom of the solar panels. However we noticed that it was going to be too heavy for the structure to hold on to, so Kayla suggested that we should only put the batteries at the very bottom of the structure and everything else that's not too heavy on top of the structure with the solar panels.
So far in our structure team, we have made our first complete- laser-cut model of the structure. The fitting is only loose because the Laser Cutting Machine has burned the edges. But once we cut out the structure file for the Shop Bot, it will fit perfectly.
This is a very late entry but I believe that this is the only blog that I a missing so far from everything I have done so far. This was an interesting project or introduction or getting to know more of the features of google earth, we had to rally point places we know.....(not done edit later)
On Tuesday the , we all went to the Mission Trails National Park, to take pictures and map whatever we could find interesting to visitors there.
So, I was in the 1st FabLab team led by Esteban and Shani. We and our GPS -(Global Positioning System) and GIS -(Global Information System) devices mainly mapped crossroads. This information could be very important for first time visitors, and it was fun.
Today, I assisted Jake with his public installation piece that involves lights that are activated by the passing of day. He is planning on using rocks that utilize sensors that respond to darkness. At the moment, we are attempting to create structures to house these rocks, as to prevent vandalism. The problem we are facing, however, is that there is a limited amount of space to place this structure. Thus, we are attemting to visualize a structure that would direct the light at a certain angle while still allotting enough room for the light sensor.
Diodes are I believe to be one of most simple components on electrical circuit, A diode is like a one way road cars can go in one direction only, but cant go to the opposite direction. A "Do Not Enter" sign serves as barrier for them.
Diodes in more techincal sense is two terminal device. Diodes redicrect current from postive terminal to negative and cureent can't flow in opposite direction. Diodes are useful in a circuit because diodes amplify current within a circuit.
So apparently we are having some worries with Jakes structure. We have been working with lights but the thig is that its inside of a rock the design it was made. Now we would have to check if they would fit inside the small crampped area of the box, we would have to create so that it would fit inside. We would have to find the lenght, the width and the height of the structure. This went by pretty smoothly...but at the same time there were head aches and a lot of thinking for this piece of the structure.
