Hi my name is Blas Vazquez I'm one of the chosen few to work at this interesting worksite the Fab Lab. My first Project was to do a Networking Tutorial: about how to install and repair a network. This experience was good for going over the skills of networking I acquired though out my high school years.
Today we are getting ready for Congresswoman Susan Davis to visit us at the FabLab. This is a big day for the Lab so that means we have to have it be at its best and be on our best behavior to impress Susan Davis. Some one from each of the teams will be presenting the different projects that we have done so far including the Drawdio, LED's, Mission Trails GPS mapping, and the Whales on Fire structure that Jake, kristna, Trang, and Tresor. So far only part of the Whales on Fire structure is complete and there is still more cutting and sanding to be done.
Today Congresswoman Susan Davis is going to come and visit us. We are all very excited to be able to meet her. Congresswoman Davis is going to come and look at our lab and projects. We will get a chance to explain our sculpture projects to her and see how she likes them. Us interns have to be on our best behavior because we want Congresswoman Davis to love us and what we do at the FabLab. We will explain the projects that we have completed such as: the Drawdio, the LED project, the Mission Trails GPS mapping project, and our structure projects.
During this week mostly all I have been doing is sanding. Since im pretty much done with my blogs and my wiki I still need to work on something, so I decided to help jake sand his structure. Were still sanding jakes structure for quite a while. Jakes structure is kind of a large sturcture so we needed everybody to start sanding so we will be done in time. However not everybody is very exited about it, since the wood is kind of hard to sand.
Yesterday, we spent all day sanding the wood for Jake's sculpture. The diffence in my clothing from the beginning of the day to the end was REMARKABLE. My pants no longer looked black. They appeared to be sort of gray/ grayish (haha). However, we accomplished alot of sanding (even though we still have more to sand). I feel that this project will turn out very well because everyone is helping to make these sculptures a success. I am sure that we will all be very proud and relieved when these projects are completed and placed in the community.
I am currently at a stop point so far...I got the screws to go in the wall and it stood snuggly. But now its a total mess and its 1 in the morning I think I need my sleep to much thinking for one day. Right now the process looks good its the part where I need it to hang on to the other part of the hard disk drive. But it seems that it slides off and its complicated since all I have is a Vice Grip and I can only seem to bend the material so far hopefully I finish this soon.
Yesterday, me, david and jake started to sand the structure a little bit more from the bottom because the structure wouldn't stay still, I also had to take out really big chunks of wood in the edges because they would pretty much interfere or ruin the structure so we had to take them out in some way or another . The structure rocked back and fourth, so we still noticed that we had a lot of sanding to do in the bottom of the structure so we could get the structure to stand still.

Yesterday me and Troung were working on a sketch for Jake's structure were we will be placing the solar panels .We were trying to figure out some missing lenghts between the two small solar panels so that we could figure out how much space we had to work between the solar panels .If it was too small we wouldn't be able to place the solar panels.
