My personal project was composed of three different things. The first of which was a sticker of Muhammad Ali, because my best friend is a boxer and that’s some one that he looks up to and I felt it was important to do something that had to do with him because he is a big part of my life. This project proved to be the most difficult because I had to take all of the features of a person and turn them into lines and a one color image. For this project I had to print it out, trace it, use a marker to show shading and turn the image into a negative/positive image and no in between. Next I had to scan it, transfer it into Adobe Illustrator and trace it again with the pen tool. Finally, I sent it to the vinyl cutter and then weed out the negative space.
My second part of the project was something for my family another one of my biggest support systems. I did a sticker of the Crimson Tide because my family is big fans of the Alabama college football team. This project was rather simple, since the logo is mostly lines to begin with all just needed to create a bit map with Illustrator, tweak the design a little by messing with the individual points. Cut it on the vinyl cutter and weed it out.
Finally, my last part of my project was a key chain made out of pink acrylic and is in the shape of a cancer ribbon supporting cancer. I did this because a lot of my family has had and or died from cancer and my most significant and recent loss was my aunt Mary and her name is cut into the ribbon as well as my grandmothers, Peggy.
