Pieces of the Table

My table consists of two legs, two side support pieces, a top and most recently added is a tooth. The point of my table was for it to be press fit needing no tools for it not to be bulky and easy for anyone to assemble. My first model was made of cardboard and it was easily put together like how I imagined. When we cut it with the shop bot the slots that were supposed to lock together were too big because the machine was set to cut on the inside of the object versus the out side. If it would have been cut on the inside the measurements would have been exact. Going back to the cardboard model I needed to change it so that once the top of the table was in place that I would be able to hold it in place so that it wouldn't slide around. My latest thing that I have added to the design is a type of "tooth" that holds the top piece in place when the tooth straddles the leg piece. For my next shot bot model i have found that if you invert the image making the back round black instead of the image it will make it so that it cuts on the outside of the shape giving you accurate measurements that will fit together without being loose. We figured this out by making a test piece and looked like a comb with simple pegs going in and out of a base and inverted its colors that would help us try to find a way so that the shop bot would cut where i wanted it too, and it was successful. My test piece had slots that were 1/8in., 1/16in. and 3/16in. however the shop bot could only pick up the 1/8in. and the 3/16in. because with a 1/8 bit the shop bod knew that it would not be able to create a slot smaller then 1/8.
