Structure Wheel

Today, my partner and I finished the small scale model of our structure project. There are three different projects for the structure group. My partner and I decided to make a wheel; kind of like on the show The Price Is Right. We cut out our small scale model this morning to show to everyone else. We gathered together into a circle to present our models. We gave each other suggestions on how to improve our projects so that it will work and operate better. We explained our objectives and the problems that we were having. We received comments and suggestions that helped with renovations on our project files.

We had to adjust the measurements on our base, wheels, and panels. We had two bases at first. We found that it was not going to work that way. Therefore, we connected the bases and made them into one. We also had to make the base taller and readjust the size and position of the hole. There is a hole in the base and the wheel for the axle to to go through for the wheel to be able to spin. We used a pen as the axle for now.

We are going to have cultural motifs on the panels of the wheel. There are 8 panels; therefore, we will have 8 different cultural motifs. We will either engrave or carve the pictures out onto the wood of the final project.

On thursday, we will make a half-scale sculpture. This will help us to better understand what the finished project will look like. Here are a few pictures of our small scale model. Enjoy.
