Assignment Done
Basically, Xavier assigned us to find and design a symbol that represents different countries, including Cambodia (my project), Sudan, Somalia, and Mexico. I finally finished my symbol on July 27th and it's of this Cambodia shadowpuppet. Shadow play or shadow puppetry is an ancient form of storytelling and entertainment using opaque, often articulated figures in front of an illuminated backdrop to create the illusion of moving images. It is popular in various cultures such as Camodia and many parts of Asian and India. At present, more than 20 countries are known to have shadow show troupes.
On Saturday, August 1, Esteban helped me edit and finalize my design. At the end of the day, we finally put it into ShopBot and cut out my desgin on a material made out of wood and plastic. The result came out the way I wanted to, no problems were presented during the cutting out of the design.
