My four weeks spent here at the Fablab have been a fun and challenging learning experience. I have learned many new things since I’ve been here including using the various equipment as well as learning new things about the computer that I thought I already knew so much about. I learned how to use a vinyl cutter, which cuts out and makes stickers.
I’ve also learned how to use the Shopbot that can cut large pieces of wood to make things like the structure we are currently working on. As well as being able to cut wood, the Laser cutter can cut through objects such as cardboard and acrylic but in a smaller scale. I have had lots of fun learning new things about electronics because it was something that I was really interested in learning. My first project at the Fablab was the Drawdio which is a pencil that can make sound and it was a good introduction into soldering and connecting wires and circuits and other things like that. Although I came into the fablab a couple weeks late, I was welcomed in with open arms and I feel like I have caught up with everything that has been done here. My time at the Fablab has been really fun and I learned things that I could take with me to the real world and apply in the future.
