The Heads on Fire Community

 During this intership in the Fab Lab, I learned a lot of things that I never tought I would work with.This experience helped me in alot of ways, personally,and profesionally.The Fab Lab teached me various things that are going to help me in the future.For example, I learned a lot of the solar panels and how they work, my first sketch of a structure and I finally made something that came out right, the drawdio. This experience also kept me busy from other stuff, which I really apreciate that because I actually worked for something usefull. I showed everybody in my family and friends that I could be responsible .They didnt think I would be accepted but I proved them wrong, thanks to the Fab Lab ,I actually felt usefull in something good.

Also this Intership was like a review to what I used to do, Sanding , or moving, working with other people, helping them in their projects , like jake's structure. Before all of this, the Fab Lab showed me how to work with some machines. For example, the vinyl cutter, the laser cutter and the shopbot (even though I never used it).Especially the Vinyl Cutter Tutorial that me and bashir made showed me how to use the vinyl cutter,before that tutorial I didnt want to move anything because I thought that I would mess up everything, but I didn't. I also learned how to use the wiki which was some what confusing to me at first. Also I learned how to use The laser cutter, when we made our personal project, I had to use the machines I didn't know how to use.Now with all my trust and confidence I know I can use those machines with out any thoughts that im going to mess up something.

In the Fab Lab I learned to solder really good. In the first time that I made the 3-D cube I saw that it was very easy to control the soldering, all I needed to do was to focus on what I was doing.One of my biggest challangelles was the drawdio because I had never worked with electronics before.I tried like problably 4 times and used 3 sets of the materials needed for the drawdio. I was able to fix two sets of the materials used for the drawdio's and make them into my first two drawdios.Even though the third one was a total disaster I learned from my mistakes, be pacient and take your time and dedication in what you doing.Finally I learned to get along with other people that i didn't know which was kind of hard to me. Academically I got way much better with reasearching other stuff. I know that all of this that I learned in this internship is going to help me in the future, like for example I want to work with cars, I either want to learn how to fix them,which I have some knowledge,but I would like to learn a lot more. Also I would like to design cars, ever since I was 6, i was facinated with cars and started to draw them ,now I can draw any car that I see, so its not a bad idea to learn how yo sketch them in 3-D. All in all,The fab lab helped me professinally, academically, personally and economically.
