Making the drawdio i learned even more about electronics and the components involved in a circut. In the drawdio we use a circut board, two transistors, two resistors, four capacitors, a timer, a speaker and a lot of wire. The resistors we used were striped different colors meaning different amount of Ohms, the first of our resistors was sriped brown, black, orange, gold. Because of a symple system that is used to calculate what that means, I know that this particular resistor has the power of 10,000 Ohms. On resistors the last stripe is always either silver or gold, this band stands for the tolerance, gold in the case of the resistors I was using is better, it means that it is plus or minus five percent of how many Ohms the other bands state. On the second resistor i used the bands were striped orange, black, yellow meaning 300,000 Ohms. Below is a chart showing you how i calculated how much each band is worth.
There were also two different types of capacitors which I thought was interesting because I had never used more then one type in a circuit before. I finished with the drawdio and it does work. The concept of the drawdio is rather simple. Through the circut board you are electrifying the led in the pencil, so as u draw, if u place ur finger on the begining trails of the drawing it will cause a complete circut, the end result is the pencil itself making a noise which comes out of the speakers.
